This guide briefly tell the Active and Passive Skill Profession you will meet during the game in hope that it can be of help to some beginners.
From Eleven to Twenty
Levels 11, 12 and 13 will give you access to Frenzy, Seismic Slam and Revenge as active skills. When you hit level 13 Nerves of Steel will become accessible as a passive skill. It increases your armor, but I still prefer Pound of Flesh. Just keep your armor up to date and you’ll be fine.
By the time you get to level 20 you will have 2 passive skill slots and 5 active ones. Pound of Flesh and Berserker Rage are great passive skills. Seismic Slam is a great level 12 skill with knock-back abilities. It costs only 30 Fury and deals 155% damage.
From Twenty-one to Thirty
Furious Charge is available as soon as you hit 20, and both Battle Rage and Ignore Pain are available at level 22. Call of the Ancients, Overpower, War Cry and Wrath of the Berserker are also unlockable at levels 25, 26, 28, and 30. In total you will have access to seven new active skills from level 21 to 30.
Blood thirst is a passive skill that will allow you to gain 3% of all damage done back as life. It works great with Berserker Rage, which bumps up your damage 25% when your Fury is maxed out.
From Thirty-one and above
Since the normal difficulty of the game ends around level 30, there aren’t a ton of skills left. If you haven’t been using runes yet now is a good time, especially as you play through the game on more advanced difficulties. From here on out, you will get a new passive skill every 5 levels.
No Escape is available at level 35, then Relentless is unlocked at 40, Brawler at 45, Juggernaut at 50, Unforgiving at 55, and finally Boon of Bul-Kathos is unlocked at level 60.
Relentless reduces your damage in half when your life is below 20%. Skills also cost no Fury at that point. If you’re playing a more defensive role Relentless may be useful.
Brawler increases your damage 30%, but only when 3 enemies are within 8 yards. It’s not my first choice as a new passive skill, since it’s the simplest of the new skills in terms of perks.
Juggernaut is another great defensive skill. Control impairing effects on you are reduced by 20%. You also have a chance to recover 15% of your life whenever Fear, Charm, Stun or Immobilize is cast on you. If you are using relentless Juggernaut is a good combination.
